Been listening to these guys/gal for a long time, and I discovered this song through the Slacker 2011 trailer. The Octopus Project also make a cameo in the movie.

I love when people play acoustically over sequenced electronic music. Great to listen to while driving on your favorite open road.

Update: Now that I’ve heard the full song, I remember them playing it when they opened for DEVO a few months ago. Yvonne Lambert’s amazing theremin solo tipped me off.

A lazy day at The Backyard, Austin, Texas It’s going to be an unbelievable year for live music. This morning I managed to snag tickets to see Arcade Fire at The Backyard, thanks to a friend. I also have tickets for Echo & The Bunnymen, Fitz and The Tantrums, and DEVO/The Octopus Project. At SXSW I plan on seeing Duran Duran, Little Dragon, The Republic Tigers, The Strokes, The Bangles, A-Trak, Teen Daze, The Black Angels, The Spinto Band, Chromeo, We Are Country Mice, Cults, Twin Shadow, Ty Segall, Datarock, The Dodos, Fang Island, Portugal. The Man, Prima Donna, Shit Robot, Small Sins, Surfer Blood, Tahiti 80, This Will Destroy You, and White Denim. Did I miss anyone?
