I took this shot last night while we were on the set of a friends film shoot. The location was an underpass in the small town of Taylor, Texas near a railroad crossing and a row of what I thought was abandoned warehouses. While we were standing there in the darkness waiting for the scene to be shot, I heard some very faint classic country music coming from the building we were leaning against. I thought this was strange considering the building was so old and broken down, and had no glass covering the windows; only a very old rusted metal mesh grate. It was completely dark with no sign of life. I tried to look through the grate, but couldn’t make sense of any shape or object. The music persisted. I decided to try and hold my hands very still while shooting a long exposure through the grate holes to see what was in the room. This image is what was returned. I can make out two fans, a table with something green and folded, a fly swatter, a blue bucket, a sign (can’t read what it says), and stacked pallets of an unknown bagged substance. There also seems to be a photograph of people standing attached to a riveted metal duct, also with an American flag attached to it. I swear I saw shadows moving while peering into the room.
